Handcrafted Western Candles from a New Mexico Ranch
Hi, I'm Jackie, and I pour every Rustic Enigma candle by hand in a converted 45-foot van trailer next to my ranch home in northeastern New Mexico. What started as a love for mixing essential oils in 2005 turned into a full candle company rooted in Western heritage, quality craftsmanship, and the scents of ranch life.
The Beginning
My journey with scent started back in 2005 when I fell in love with blending essential oils. Over time, that passion evolved into candle making — and once I discovered the difference that 100% soy wax made, there was no going back. Soy burns cleaner, longer, and truer to the fragrance than paraffin blends loaded with chemical extenders. I made a commitment early on: if I wouldn't want it in my home, it doesn't go into my candles.
The Workshop
Every Rustic Enigma candle is made in my workshop — a repurposed 45-foot van trailer sitting right next to our ranch home in northeastern New Mexico. It's not a factory. It's not a fulfillment center. It's one person, one pour at a time, in a space that smells like the West. Small-batch production means I can control every step of the process and stand behind every candle that leaves my hands.
Western Heritage
This isn't a Western theme — it's a Western life. I live it every day on our New Mexico ranch, surrounded by the landscapes, the culture, and the community that inspire every scent I create. The product names aren't marketing. They come from real places, real people, and real memories. Like Calf Slobbers, dedicated to my grandfather-in-law and the ranch traditions he passed down. That's the kind of story woven into every Rustic Enigma candle.
The Scents
When I develop a new scent, I'm not sitting in a lab — I'm thinking about a dusty morning ride, the smell of leather and sage, the wind coming off the mesa. Scents like Dusty Mexican Morning, Cowboy, and West Texas Wind aren't just names. They're places and feelings I've lived. That's what makes Rustic Enigma different: the storytelling isn't added on top — it's baked in from the start.

The Process
Every candle starts with 100% soy wax — no paraffin, no blends, no shortcuts. I use quality fragrance oils without chemical fillers, and I test every scent profile before it ever goes into a jar. Small-batch production means I can catch issues before they reach you, and refine until the burn and the scent are exactly right. Clean burning, long lasting, and made with intention.
The Community
